Bear with us while we get nerdy! Iodine is a trace element and an essential component of the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Your thyroid release specific hormones that travels through your body and regulate vital functions such as breathing, heart rate, metabolism, menstrual cycles, body temperature, blood pressure, even your mood! All of that is to say, iodine is important and kelp is packed with naturally occurring iodine, which makes it a most excellent option for your daily iodine intake.   1. Combine Wakame, green tea and ginger into a medium teapot. Cover with boiling water and allow to steep for 2-3 minutes. Before pouring into your favorite mug. Sweeten with honey for a sweet treat.
